چکیده

Previous micro-scale studies of the effect pore structure on spontaneous imbibition are mainly limited to invariable-diameter capillaries. However, in real oil and gas reservoir formations, capillary diameters changing interconnected. Applying lattice Boltzmann color gradient two-phase flow model parallel computation CPUs, we simulated variable-diameter We explored reasons for nonwetting phase snap-off systematically studied critical conditions imbibition. The effects pore-throat aspect ratio, throat diameter, tortuosity were studied. Through analyzing results, found that variation diameter produces an additional resistance, which increases with increase ratio a capillary. Under action this phenomenon sometimes occurs imbibition, makes recovery efficiency non-wetting extremely low. In addition, main factors affecting tortuosity, is different from conventional concept tortuosity. When does not occur, velocity when fixed, period increases, i.e., rate decreases, also increases. bigger smaller sine function both inhibit speed

Lattice Boltzmann modeling of two component gas diffusion in solid oxide fuel cell

In recent years, the need for high efficiency and low emission power generation systems has made much attention to the use of fuel cell technology. The solid oxide fuel cells due to their high operating temperature (800 ℃ -1000 ℃) are suitable for power generation systems.Two-component gas flow (H2 and H2O) in the porous media of solid oxide fuel cell’s anode have been modeled via lattice Boltz...

Lattice dependence of reaction-diffusion in lattice Boltzmann modeling

We consider the influence of the lattice symmetry and size of the lattice Boltzmann method on the behavior of a pure reaction diffusion system. We show that the effect of the dispersion relation in the diffusion coefficient can be minimized, by tuning the fraction of rest particles and the relaxation parameter. For the reaction, we focus on the Selkov model and study the dynamics of pattern for...

Interface pinning in spontaneous imbibition.

Evaporation and gravity induced pinning in spontaneous imbibition are examined within a phase field formalism. Evaporation is introduced via a nonconserving term and gravity through a convective term that constrains the influx of liquid. Their effects are described by dimensionless coupling constants epsilon and g, respectively. From liquid conservation, the early time behavior of the average i...

Lattice Boltzmann Modeling of Injection Moulding Process

Polymer injection in moulds with complicated shapes is common in todays industrial problems. A challenge is to optimize the mould design which leads to the most homogeneous filling. Current commercial softwares are able to simulate the process only partially. This paper proposes a preliminary study of the capability of a two-fluid LatticeBoltzmann model to provide a simple and flexible approach...
